Green open access, also known as self-archiving, is when authors post their manuscripts in repositories or online even if the final version is closed access/behind a paywall.
This enables authors to share their work without paying an article processing charges (APC) to make their work open access whilst also enabling readers to read a version of the work without hitting a paywall.
You are welcome to contact us with your specific article tite(s) as well as the journal you published in to see which version of the manuscript you may upload to Manara.
If you have published your work as a closed access journal article, you may upload the accepted version of your manuscript to Manara after the embargo period on the article has passed. Embargo periods vary from publisher to publisher and from journal to journal.
This page is for authors who are about to publish or who have published work that will be behind a paywall, i.e. work that is not open access. It provides information on how a version of your work, the accepted manuscript that has undergone peer review and subsequent edits based on peer review, can still be made available via Manara.
If you need more information about open access work, please return to the main Manara page.
In an effort to support UDST authors, an Addendum to Publication Agreement form is available for modifying agreements with publishers.
Use this form in order to negotiate better terms.
Benefits
The "author's accepted manuscript" -- the version that has already undergone peer review and edits based on peer review -- may be uploaded to Manara.
