Scopus

Depending on the screening software you are using (e.g. Rayyan, Covidence, etc.) you may have to download or export a specific file type. In general, RIS files are recommended as they can also be imported into popular reference management software (Zotero, RefWorks, etc.).

To export search results from Scopus:

  • Create a Scopus account; you need a Scopus account in order to use the Export option
  • Once you are signed in and have run your search, select the documents you would like to export; in most cases you will 'Select All'
  • Select 'Export' in the action tool bar.
  • From the export drop-down menu, choose a file type, reference manager, or platform; in most cases you will select RIS
    • A dialog with the list of the  metadata fields dialog opens.
  • Tick the desired boxes to select the metadata fields & information you want to export; if you are unsure, select all the fields
  • Select 'Export'.
  • Once the export file is generated, you can retrieve it from the 'Exports Dashboard
    • Note: exported files in the dashboard are available for 3 days
